Biography
“Growing up with a fashion designer mother and father each with a factory full of sewing machines and a storefront shaped my life passion in fashion design"
But I didn’t realize that I was made to be in the eco-friendly fashion industry until much later in life.
When I turned 30 I made several outfits from the junk yard that looked like a million dollars, that’s when I stumbled upon my hidden "wearable art" powers.
Only after winning first place 3 times and having my work exhibited at the MFAH Museum of Fine Arts Houston, under the unconventional wearable art category fashion show, in 2015/16, I got enlightened about my career, mission and purpose!
We, as a brand understand the importance of contributing to our planet and know that the fashion industry is one of the most polluting agents in our world. Our passion is not only to make avant-garde recycled art designs, but also to embrace them with an impactful creative message in every collection.
Whether me make our designs in our studio in Houston Texas or we source them from artisans in South America.
Wearable art + Ethically Sourced + Fair Trade + Sustainable + Eco-friendly + Artisan made + Hand made + Hand embroidered is in our DNA
Mission Statement:
Wearable art that is ethical, fair trade and sustainable. Our fashion DNA is at the forefront of our business values in "every sale we make"
Powerful partnerships are a must for us, we've partnered with Celebration Company a local Nonprofit in Houston that employs artist with disabilities! We can purchase prints from many places, but we chose to give a chance to artist with disabilities over any other print out there!
Celebration Company mission statement:
We provide life skills and meaningful employment to individuals with disabilities who—with joy and purpose—provide services and create products that celebrate the good of life. Celebration Company is a faith-based program that is open to the Jewish and Greater Houston Community.
